Many Executions are ‘Pending’, in India. The most notorious case to catch the headlines since Dhananjoy Chatterjee is another of the ‘big issue’ cases concerning Terrorism. President Kalam presently considers the Mercy Petition of Mohammed Afzal, found guilty of conspiring in the ‘Attack on Parliament’ on December 13th, 2001.

We have sent a considered letter to President Kalam, to seek the commutation of Mr. Afzal’s death sentence. In our humble opinion, though, it as well as any other Petitions seeking commutation, will not succeed in this case.
